April 26, 2021
Dear Members and Friends of Pine Grove United Methodist Church,
It is with great joy that the David Hinson Memorial Endowment Fund Committee announces the availability of funds for distribution in 2021. The fund was started by members of Pine Grove UMC in 2009, in memory of lifetime church member and outstanding citizen David Hinson, with a threefold purpose:
- To raise funds to provide educational scholarship opportunities to active members of Pine Grove who are pursuing higher education and;
- To financially support local mission work and mission trips designed to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of people and;
- To provide support to patients and families with medical and related expenses, particularly those battling cancer.
Since 2010, church members and others have worked to build the fund through annual fund raiser events and through individual contributions.
There are funds available 2021. Further details about eligibility and applications for each of these opportunities to benefit from the fund are available in the vestibule of Pine Grove UMC, or may be obtained by emailing the church at hinsonendowment@pinegroveumcalbemarle.org.
Application deadline for all awards to be completed and returned to the church is May 31, 2021. Scholarship awards will be announced in late June or early July. Other awards will be announced when awarded; medical awards may be kept confidential, as appropriate. All awards given will be at the discretion of the Committee.
We are excited about the opportunities this Fund will have going forward to positively impact lives in our community. To God be the Glory!
Sincerely,
Members of David Hinson Memorial Endowment Committee
